Is a vision board right for you? If you could adopt a simple process, a few simple techniques, that would allow you to manifest whatever you want, would you in interested in learning and giving it ago? If you answered yes, then a vision board is for you!
Did you know that you already know how to manifest? It’s true, take a moment and have a look around your self right now. How much of what you see, is the product of your own decisions, your choices, your beliefs and your thoughts about yourself? Almost everything, and they all originated from a thought, a vision, in your mind.
Now you may be happy with what you have created, and if that is so, I am so proud of you, and keep up the good work. However, if you were someone, when you looked around, and did not feel excited, love and contentment with what you have created, then my dear friend please do not despair for I am here to give you the information you need to transform your life.
Those who already have a vision board, this article may just give you what you need to give your manifestation abilities the power to bring your desires into the present moment, for those who are new to creating a vision board, lets’ go on a creative journey together!
First off, lets start with:
Many of you may already know the answer to this but for those who are just learning, ‘manifestation’ is able to be defined as the universal law that operates at all levels, for all people, at all times. The key idea here is ‘like attracts like’. Positive thoughts will attract positive outcomes, whereas negative thoughts will create negative outcomes.
Now that is a powerful thought! That we could be responsible in some way for creating our reality. Sometimes it seems impossible to believe such a thing, particularly when things are not going so well for us. When there is adversity and misfortune, we do not want to believe that we may be responsible but the best part is that we have the power within us to change it around.
You see, the power to make things happen, to manifest, doesn’t entirely lie with you – it lies with the universal consciousness, the Mystery, God, Infinite Intelligence, Cosmic Consciousness… call it what you will, but you are apart of this. See manifestation in its purest form is the responsibility of the universe, or more accurately the universal laws that can create any outcome if instructed to do so in the correct way.
Examples of ‘Manifestation’:
Do you believe me now that you can manifest? If you still are unsure here are a few examples to put things into prospective.
Have you ever woken up late and started to think – “I am going to be so late for work?” Then things just seem to go down hill from there. You are trying to catch the bus or subway, but yet you just missed it or you jump in your car to head to work only to be met by traffic.
Or maybe you have wanted something so much, but your thoughts are negative, like “I am not going to be able to afford that or have this” and so you have not, even though you desire it so much.
You see, the problem is not in the learning how to manifest, for we already do that. The true challenge is rather how do we manifest consciously and subconsciously what we really desire with a positive mindset, so we don’t feel powerless or out of control.
1. Plan Out Your Board – Take some time to thoughtfully consider the message you want your personalized board to convey and how you want your vision board to look. What are your true desires and dreams that you want to reflect on your vision board?

What you want to learn or grow into
Would you like to use one board or multiple boards for different areas of your life? Some people prefer to make several small boards to visualize several categories of desires, while others prefer to make one large board the encompasses everything desired. Keep in mind that you’ll need to place this board in a visible area that you see everyday.
Images are a major component on the vision board. The images you will use can be sourced from anywhere – newspaper, magazines, printed images/quotes, photographs, pages from a book, brochures/pamphlets and flyer’s. Also it is a good idea to decide if your vision board style will be messy or tidy. I prefer a messy creative look.
2. Buy your supplies – This one is fairly straight forward. Choose which type of board you would like to use: cork board, cardboard, black board, magnetic white board, canvas, the materials are endless. Whatever you decide to use, don’t forget the items that will hold your imagines in place.
I have chosen a magnetic white board for my vision board, with this I also had to buy little magnetic clips/buttons to hold my imagines and affirmations in place.
3. Set up your space – Creating a vision board is a special ritual. It is a time to get in touch with your true self, identifying your true desires and focusing your energy on attracting them into your life. Treat this moment as something special, a moment for you.
Find an uninterrupted, quite space – this is your own time and your own experience. A vision board is all about you and what you want for your life. Make sure you’ve got a few hours all by yourself to really focus on this special gift. Set out your supplies, make sure you have enough of everything so you don’t interrupt your time by having to go get extra glue etc.
Light some candles or incense. Turn on some music, however if you get distracted by lyrics or think the content of certain songs will influence you, then find some nice instrumental music to play. Tibetan chants, singing bowls or even nature sounds can bring on a sense of comfort and peace, setting the mood for the experience.
4. Create your vision board – For this step, let your creative power shine. It’s totally up to you whether your board is simple and literal or complicated and metaphorical. With the cut out imagines, create a collage that will speak to you. Hold each image in your hands and stare at them. Feel the desire running through your body. Notice what emotions arise when you think of that image and the desires that it conjures. See yourself getting what you want and feel the happiness radiating from it.
How to use your Vision Board
Once you’ve created your vision board, place it in an area that you see every day. I have placed my vision board in my meditation area, which is a corner of my office. You may like to place it on your night stand or some other place where you can look at it first thing in the morning. Treat your vision board like it’s sacred – it’s special gift you’ve given to yourself, and a powerful tool to attract all your desires into your life.
Your brain will work tirelessly to achieve the statements you give your subconscious mind. When those statements are the affirmations and images of your dreams and desires, you are destined to achieve them! By representing your goals with pictures and images, you will actually strengthen and stimulate your emotions because your mind responds strongly to visual stimulation. Your emotions are the vibrational energy that activates the Law of Attraction. The saying “A picture is worth a thousand words,” certainly holds true here.
To speed up your manifesting, spend time visualizing your vision board and go to sleep saying an affirmations over and over again in your mind. I like to say to myself as I fall to sleep, “All my dreams and desires have become reality for me now, Thank you, Thank you”. The thoughts and images that are present in your mind during the last forty-five minutes before going to sleep are the ones that will replay themselves repeatedly in your subconscious mind through-out the night. The thoughts and images that you begin each day with will help you to create a vibrational match for the future you desire.
As time goes by, and your dreams begin to manifest, look at those images that represent your achievements, and feel gratitude for how well the Law of Attraction is working for you. One thing that I have personally found affective, is the images from my vision board that I have now created in reality, that I have achieved, I take from the vision board and place in the gratitude journal. Which I reflect on often as I write what I am grateful for each day.
If you travel a lot, and are not able to take your vision board with you, that is
ok. Here is what I do for this exact situation. I personally use my gratitude journal, which I take with me where ever I go; if you do not have one I highly recommend you invest in one. It can be any size or shape, with lined paper or without. I love using an A4 sketch book.
So how this works is; take a photo of your vision board, with your phone works well. Then print a picture of your vision board to glue into your gratitude journal, now you always have it with you. Also use your gratitude journal to place the images from your vision board that you achieve your dreams and desires. This is an excellent way to reflect on the power of ‘Manifestation and the Law of Attraction’.
Look at your dream board often and feel the inspiration it provides. Hold it in your hands if you can, and really internalize the future it represents. Read your daily affirmations and inspirational words aloud. See yourself living in that manner. Feel yourself in the future you have designed. Believe it is already yours. Be grateful for the good that is already present in your life.
Acknowledge any goals you have already achieved and the changes you have seen and felt. Feel and acknowledge the presence of God, the universe, the energy around you and give thanks for the Law of Attraction at work in your life on a daily bases.
i would love you see your creations, your vision boards. Feel free to post a picture of what you have designed in the comments. Let me know how you go with the creating experience and if you need help with anything at all, I am here.
